New Police Radars Can 'see' Inside Homes:
I read the article titled New Police Radars Can 'See' Inside Homes. In this article it talked about a new radar that police forces have that allow them to 'see' inside homes, with a range of up to 50 feet. The radar can not produce pictures, but it can produce audio which helps police to determine the situation within the house. Police use this as evidence, when in need to search someones house as a way to avoid having to get a search warrant. People believe that the radar goes against the fourth amendment which is our right to privacy, people do not like that the radar can hear everything in their house, and that police can use it without you knowing. The problem today with this is that technology is ever changing, and that people are acting oblivious to the way in which the technology is being used. The problem that comes along with the radar is that it is not a shock that the police have this, but it is how they are going to use the radar that is the problem.
I am also very curious to know how this radar is going to be used. It may be safe for the police officers because they would be able to know what is going on rather than just walking into a house uninformed. But to the people who are living in a home and having no knowledge of whether or not it is being used on them is frightening.
ReplyDeleteI agree that technology is approving everyday and we shouldn't be shocked but all cops aren't go cops so this scares me that they now have access to the privacy of our home without our knowledge .
