Information and Privacy

I did the article on LoT and the idea of privacy, and whether or not people should be aware of the information being posted about. Different companies are talking about whether or not people should know what information is being shared about them, and if they should be aware of it. In the world of business companies practice safety procedures that prevent peoples information from being shared on more than just their website. For example, they have password changes frequently, and they have more clear websites that allow for people to see where their information is possibly going to go. I think this is important and very smart because people should know exactly where all their information is going to end up, and they should clearly written out for the people to see.

Technology websites the good and the bad

http://www.extremetech.com/
On this website it talks about the new forms of technology coming out, and when they are going to be released. I think this website did a job good of sorting and organizing the data so that it is not all over the place, and overall the website seems clear and easy to navigate. Also, the colors of the website all work well together.

https://rohidassanap.wordpress.com/2013/06/18/top-40-best-technology-news-websites-the-definitive-list/

This website talks about the 40 best technology news websites. I do not think that this website does a good job catching peoples attentions because the text is not bold or big enough to really see it clearly. I also think that the website has to many distracting things on the side that make it hard to focus on the main text of the website. It is not very organized, and it is not neatly done.

LCD Touchboards

The LCD touch board is becoming a new trend in the way in which technology is going to transform. With this students will be able to see the notes and or lesson that the teacher is teaching right in front of them. The teacher will not have to worry about writing on the board for the students to take notes everything will be right there for them. Teachers will not have to worry about kids in the back not seeing the writing on the board which then leads them not to pay attention, where now those kids in the back will have the luxury of the notes being right on their desk. These boards are interactive, and students can use them for more than just notes. This is what technology in the classroom is going to come too, and it is a much easier way for teachers to teach the material to the class.

computer Latest technology 2015

In this video it talks about how Microsoft is putting computers on to tabletops in bars and restaurants. The idea behind it is that it mouse free, and easy to use. There is a camera underneath of the table that reflects what is happening on the phone, and brings it to the table top. People can upload their photos right to the tabletop computer without having to use a chord. Also, at restaurants people can pay the bill by adjusting the tip, and paying for their bill right at the table. They are hoping to have the table top computers out in restaurants and other places in November.

Technology pro's and con's

Information Technology empowers people Pro: I believe that technology allows people to stay updated with the world around them, and when people need to find information quickly they can find it almost anywhere. The advancement in technology has allowed for people to share their ideas, and bring new ideas about by constantly updating the web to allow for people to find out new information and allows people to challenge their beliefs, and share their opinions freely on the web.

CyberSpace and Isolation Con: I believe that cyberspace connects people it allows for people around the world to connect in a matter of seconds. People are constantly interacting with other people whether it be from a comment on a post, to playing someone in a videogame or interacting on social media. I believe that people only isolate themselves if they are only on the internet looking up research rather than communicating with other people through different social media websites.

Microchip in our brains that controls our devices

In this segment of the article it talks about implanting chips in to our heads, that will help us control our devices. This is going to be what technology is coming too, where we could surf tv channels from our thoughts instead of having a remote to control the tv. This I think is pretty interesting, and that I would be excited to see if this actually happens, and how they are going to make this possible. This is using our neural connections to stimulate the chips to enhance the connection between the person and the device that they are using.

Image result for hudl sports
I use this app for sports when our coach wants us to watch film on other teams or on our own team. This app allows users to select the game that they want to watch, or even go back to previous games that were posted on the site. The app requires a username and password that is set up by the coach so that it connects right to the sports team page. Throughout the game clip the coach can add comments, and break the game in to pieces to highlight were mistakes were made, or possible areas for different situations to occur.  This app is free, and can be used by any team, and with every type of sport. This app can be accessed anywhere from mobile phones, to desktops, and to ipads and tablets.

Blur Uses One-Time Use Credit Card Numbers to Deter Hackers

This week I read an article about a company called Blur. They came up with an idea about making "fake" credit cards to protect your personal credit card information while you are shopping from potential hackers. Blur generated a browser extension that when you make an online purchase a notification will pop up that says "Protect My Card". With this the company will create a fake card number, and expiration date for a one time use, it can be used in stores anywhere and you enter the credit card information to the cashier and the transaction will be complete. This prevents hackers from getting the information they would normally find from your credit cards, but with blur they do not have the ability to steal your personal information because after the numbers are used they are unable to be used again. I find this very interesting, and I think this can become a very useful tool in the future for preventing hackers from taking people's credit card numbers, and personal information.

New Police Radars Can 'see' Inside Homes:
I read the article titled New Police Radars Can 'See' Inside Homes.  In this article it talked about a new radar that police forces have that allow them to 'see' inside homes, with a range of up to 50 feet. The radar can not produce pictures, but it can produce audio which helps police to determine the situation within the house. Police use this as evidence, when in need to search someones house as a way to avoid having to get a search warrant. People believe that the radar goes against the fourth amendment which is our right to privacy, people do not like that the radar can hear everything in their house, and that police can use it without you knowing. The problem today with this is that technology is ever changing, and that people are acting oblivious to the way in which the technology is being used. The problem that comes along with the radar is that it is not a shock that the police have this, but it is how they are going to use the radar that is the problem.

Wireds Top Pick from CES 2015

The article that I read was titled Wireds Top Pick from CES 2015. This article was about the new pieces of technology that companies have designed in order to eventually be sold in stores. The new technology that caught my attention was the Netatmo, this piece of technology is a home surveillance system that sends alerts to your smartphone to inform you when someone is entering your house. I think this is very interesting considering that the person can reach alerts from this on their smart phone, while seeing a livestream of your house with just a click from your smart phone.
